CONSULTATIONS
My standard initial consultation fee is $250 with a Medicare rebate of $128.30
My follow up consultation fee is $120 with a Medicare rebate of $64.20
Following your consultation you will be charged the full fee, which needs to be settled on the same day as your consultation. You will be able to reclaim some of the fee back from Medicare but there will be a gap between what you can claim back and the consultation fee, as stated above. I have EFTPOS facilities that accept all major bank and credit cards except American Express. I also accept cash and cheques.

PROCEDURES (GASTROSCOPY AND COLONOSCOPY)
In most instances your health fund will accept my account for direct (no-gap) billing. If not, you will be given an invoice for the service provided. Payment will be your responsibility, but the cost will be reimbursed by Medicare and your private health fund. If paying on the day a receipt will be issued for you to claim from your health fund and Medicare. With some health funds there is a $50 hospital gap (similar at all hospitals) which must be paid on the day.
If you are uninsured I charge the Australian Medical Association’s recommended rates.
If biopsies are taken or polyps are removed during your procedure you will also receive an account from the Pathologist. For all procedures an Anaesthetist is also present, and a further account is raised by that doctor. He/she may charge a gap if that is their policy.
